Frequently asked questions

Data & privacy

Where is my data stored?
On your device, full stop. Room plans live in the app's local database; we run no cloud sync and cannot see your plans. Deleting the app deletes its data. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

General

Do I need an account to use the app?
No. The app works entirely on your device — there is nothing to sign up for, and your room plans never leave the device unless you choose to share one.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Planning, measuring and sharing all work with no connection at all. The only feature that uses the network is store mode on retailer tablets, which syncs the store's product catalog — and even that keeps working offline once synced.
Can I use feet and inches?
Yes. The app supports metric (centimetres or millimetres) and imperial (feet and inches) — switch any time and existing plans convert automatically.
Can I plan a room that is not rectangular?
Yes. Start from a rectangle or L-shape template, then add or cut away sections and drag walls and corners until the plan matches your real room. Columns, stairs and other obstacles can be added as solid shapes too.
How do I share a plan with someone?
Open the room and choose Share — the app sends a small layout file by email (or any share target on your device). The recipient opens it in their own copy of the app and gets the full editable plan.

Pricing

What does it cost?
The app is free to download and use for planning a room. Retail stores that want their own product catalog and branding on in-store tablets subscribe separately — see the "For retailers" page.

Help topics

Data & privacy

Deleting your data
Your plans exist only on your device, so you're in control: delete individual rooms from the room list, or uninstall the app to remove everything. If you've contacted support and want that correspondence deleted too, just ask in a reply.

Sharing

Opening a room file someone emailed you
Tap the .rumifit attachment in your email app and choose RumiFit to open it. If a room with the same name already exists you'll be asked whether to keep both or replace yours — nothing is overwritten without asking.

Using the app

Measuring gaps and walkways
In view mode, pick the Measure tool and drag between any two points. The measurement snaps to walls, corners and furniture edges as you drag, so it's easy to check a doorway clearance or the walkway between a sofa and the wall. Measurements are a checking tool — they aren't saved with the room.
Undoing a mistake
Use the undo and redo arrows in the toolbar. The app keeps a long history, so you can experiment freely — moves, resizes, additions and deletions can all be stepped back.
Furniture shows red — what does that mean?
Red means the item overlaps something solid: a wall, a column, or a keep-clear zone such as a door swing. Move it until it clears and the normal colour returns.
